2014 Mini Stock Rules
Approved stock bodied and stock appearing compact cars and trucks, approved after market bodies ok all doors must be welded shut. Trunk lids and hoods must be safely pinned for easy removal. All upholstery, glass, chrome or loose items must be removed. Car must have full factory floor pan and fire wall. Firewall must have holes covered. Mini pickups may be used. Tailgates must be welded shut. Floors must remain in beds. Beds can be enclosed at top level of beds. No convertibles, station wagons, or jeeps.
Mandatory 6 point roll cage, with at least 3 drivers side bars attached to cage and 2 passenger side bars plus diagonal brace in main hoop. Minimum tubing O.D. is 1 ½” and .095 wall thickness. Roll cage may extend thru front and rear firewall and tie into frame. Roll cage must be padded around driver area and have sufficient clearance between driver and cage. All cages must pass inspection. If inspectors don’t think it is safe, YOU WILL NOT RACE.
DRIVER’S EQUIPMENT AND APPAREL
Driver must have helmet, Snell SA05 or higher rated, safety belts and shoulder harnesses over each shoulder. 5-point harness is mandatory, not over three years old and in good condition and must be attached to the roll cage, or the car. Driver MUST wear full fire suit, in good condition and without rips or tears. Racing gloves, neck braces, racing shoes and window nets are mandatory. Window nets must be the webbing style and no net style. At least 4 safety bars must be installed in front of driver in windshield opening. Aluminum racing seats are MANDATORY and must be padded and bolted to frame and roll cage.
Three (3) OR Four (4) cylinder engines only, max. 151 ci. NO TURBO ENGINES. Must run MSD box or soft touch with a maximum 6500 rpm chip. 12 volt power supply must be wired through the distributor. All wires must be visible for tech. OEM heads ONLY, no racing (Esslinger type). No bee hive or wedge valve springs. OEM replacement springs only. No titanium valves, springs or retainers. Flat top pistons only. No roller cams. No stoker engines. Stock OEM for make/model crank/rod combinations only. No fuel injection intakes. No porting, polishing or machining of the cylinder head. Exception being decking the head.
Racing shocks and springs ok shocks must be in stock location. OEM stock spindles only.
Must run unaltered OEM two-barrel Motorcraft carburetor or Holley 350 measured with GO/NO GO gauges. If equipped with fuel pump, pump must be wired through oil pressure switch. Two throttle return spring mandatory mounted to engine.
Stock steering for the make and model. Quick release steering wheel ok. Steering box must remain in stock location. Quickner optional.
WHEELS, TIRES, BRAKES
Wheels MUST be steel and bead lock maybe ran on right rear only. Wheel spacers are not permitted. Any DOT street legal tire, highway tread. No mud or all-terrain. 9” sidewall to sidewall max. Recommended ½ inch studs with heavy lug nuts. Must have all lugs on all wheels. No cross grooving tires Must have 4 working brakes at all times. NO TOLERANCE. No brake shut off valves. Tires MUST fit in 9” fork measured sidewall to sidewall.
REAREND, TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH, FLYWHEEL
Any stock transmission for make and model. Stock unaltered rear end for that make and model. Locked rear ends ok. Clutch pedal must remain stock for make and model. OEM size, style and weight clutch only. No mini clutch, or lightened fly wheel.
Cars must have numbers on both sides and top of car and must be at least 20 inches in height and 4” in thickness. Number MUST be legible. You may be asked to modify your numbers so that they are legible for scoring purposes. Maximum of three digit numbers, MUST be visible. All numbers shall be in contrast by color of body.
Complete OEM bumpers only with optional reinforcement behind bumper. Bumpers must have ends securely tied to body full width of bumpers. Track Official approved tubing bumpers ok.
Fuel cell required, with a rollover valve
Minimum 2200 lbs with driver after race for stock or steal after market bodied cars. Aluminum bodied cars must weigh a minimum of 2300 lbs with driver after race. Any part of the body that is aluminum will be caused for said car to be considered aluminum or aftermarket when weighing. Any weight added must be SECURELY BOLTED to chassis with two half inch bolts. All added weight must be painted white and have car number on it and must be mounted inside the body or frame and cannot be mounted inside the drivers compartment. No tube frames, if tube built from rear kickup to the back of car add 200 lbs. Salina Speedway scales are final.
No Mirrors allowed
Track Officials reserve the right to alter or change any and all rules at anytime for the betterment of the class as a whole. Any rule changes will be announced at the drivers meeting, and will take effect the following week.
IF IT DOESN’T SAY YES….IT MEANS NO. ASK FIRST!!
