The first win at his home track, two track Championships, and a marriage proposal. What a year!

It was an amazing season for Auto House Mod Lite division driver Ryan Ayers, who most know as Bam.

After years of trying and coming so close, Ayers finally came out on top of a feature event, one that featured a stacked field in a co-sanctioned venture with the National Championship Racing Association (NCRA) series on June 17th during the Jack Petty Memorial Night. Ayers started a distant fourteenth on the field, but worked his way through some wild closing laps to be involved with a thrilling finish, beating multi-time Champion Justin Kinderknecht by half a car length, with his brother Trace and Chris Unruh less than a second behind as well.

The victory propelled him into a solid position up front in the standings, one he would hold for his first Championship at the Speedway. He followed suit at 81 Speedway, picking up the title there as well.

Those stats would be enough to call it a great year, but he topped them all when he put together one of the most memorable marriage proposals ever scene at a racetrack on July 15th. All of his friends helped him out in the division as they spelled out “WILL U MARRY ME” with their cars. Of course Ashley said yes, and the new engagement was followed by a round of fireworks.

He gets his pit help from car owner Casey Laible, crew chief Zane Hansen, and, of course, his wife-to-be Ashley Swenson.

Helping further his bid for his Championship were sponsors Casey’s Rentals, Tammy Rank, his Gma, Brother Trace, his parents, and friends.

Away from the track Bam builds commercial signs and loves spending time with his dogs.

His goals going forward?

“Hopefully a lot faster!”
